The Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) has awarded nearly $1 million to 26 community-based organizations through its Kūkulu Ola program. The program supports groups that preserve and strengthen Hawaiian culture through education, cultural site care, and community events.

Many projects foster intergenerational learning, mentor emerging leaders, and create authentic experiences that residents and visitors can share. Kūkulu Ola is part of HTA’s broader destination stewardship efforts, administered in partnership with Kilohana of the Hawaiian Council.

💭 How can we ensure that programs funded through tourism genuinely empower our people and safeguard ʻike Hawaiʻi?
